Having chickens has always been a dream...I grew up with chickens, my friends and family had chickens and there is nothing more wholesome than to look out into your garden and see hens roaming, scratching and foraging happily. Pekins especially have always been a favourite, since my first 2 hens as a child were black pekins named Huff & Patter. I just love their cute fluffy butts and cheeky personalities.
So when we eventually found a home in the countryside that just leant itself to keeping chickens, I purchased hatching eggs, bought myself an incubator and waited very impatiently for 21 days to meet the little bumblebees that hatched!
"Chicken Math" is definitely a thing! From there my business grew as I created my breeding groups from my much loved flock of pekins, and started selling hatching eggs, chicks, pullets, cockerals and point of lay.
I loved the process of incubating and hatching. I'd also always loved the idea of having ducks and geese. So I researched breeds and fell in love with the miniature Call Ducks and the incredibly beautiful and sweet tempered Sebastopol Geese.
The rest is history!
